I bought five of these. Take them home, plug them in...only two work.
The working ones pro and con:
Pro: Low profile, plenty bright enough to navigate the house at night. Adequate as a flashlight to find your way.
Con: The light detector is pretty twitchy, in moderate light it would turn on and off uncertainly. The design requires you to plug it in only one way, which can be inconvenient depending on how your sockets are laid out.
Misc: When the power fails, they flash on and off. The internal battery is a soldered shrink-wrapped three pack of 2/3 size AAA types pretty permanently built in. 3.6v 320maH. The wrapper says it uses 1 watt, so the battery should last for about an hour which is not so impressive. I am writing the company to complain about the 60% failure rate out of the box. Hopefully they will replace the faulty units. Get more detail about Sylvania LED Power Failure Light, 2nd Generation.
