Claw-Guy, the first reviewer of the P17 wasn't kidding. This flashlight is fantastic! I used it side by side with a 2 `D' cell LCD Maglite expecting that I would see a big difference. Big difference doesn't describe it right, it is amazingly bright and you cannot fairly compare the two. I pointed it at a palm tree over a city block away and it light up light a search light was on it, scary good! It does not feel quite as physically durable as a Maglite and it cost twice as much, but for the amount of light you throw around, it's worth every penny. I strongly recommend this unit and the small 7736TS as well, I have one in my Car's glove box for emergencies and it is the best small flashlight I've ever used.
