Ignore the negative reviews. For a measly $19 at Wal-Mart or Target, this thing is BRIGHT! Don't shine it in your eyes. You'll be blinded for five minutes. One thing I don't like is the packaging. They're exactly the same and the price is the same. The difference: one is a measly 1 watt and the other is 3 watts. This is like trying to compare a 4-cylinder engine to a V-12. I almost bought the weaker version but ran back and found the 3-watt flashlight. I've never had problems with it but I wish you could adjust the beam. It has a lockout tailcap, something I only found on flashlights costing THREE times more than this. People who hate the push button: you can twist the cap to keep it on. Easier than fumbling in total darkness for a push button.
Pros:
-excellent price for what it can do
-very powerful, blows away even my larger Maglite, which cost twice as much!
-lockout cap to prevent battery drain, a feature usually on flashlights costing more than twice as much
-can take a decent beating and will still perform
-LED bulb so no need to spend $10 on replacement bulbs every year
Cons:
-doubt that it's waterproof
-can't adjust the beam
