I love this light. It is very bright and is a wide angel light just right for walking in the woods at night. The light is very smothe without a hot spot. It is NOT a 'spot light' but very diffused because of the 200 points of light from the LEDs, much like a florescent portable light. It is a handful, metal and very solid. It feels like you could whack something with it if you had to. There is a hand contoured rubber grip surrounding the light that will move slightly so it can be positioned for your fingers I guess. The unintentional movement is a little annoying but not a big problem and probably a spot of adhesive would stop it. What I DIDN'T like are the battery holders. There are two holders accepting 8 AA batteries that are made of something like 'plastic'. They work fine now but I know sometime in the future (years?) one of the flimsy holders will break. A great rugged light with 2 flimsy battery holders. Perhaps I worry too much. The head is a tad over 4 1/4 inches. A holder of some kind would be nice.
